Topo

Topo

A French outbound platform where an AI agent builds signal-based lists and drafts the messages, and a rep approves every lead and every send before anything goes out.

What is

Topo

A Topo subscription starts at 6,000 credits a year, and one credit buys one enriched lead, so the base package covers roughly 500 contacts a month. Topo is a Paris and San Francisco outbound platform that sources those contacts from buying signals, enriches them, drafts the sequences and sends from mailboxes it runs for you. Signals are the part worth studying here. Topo monitors 15-plus sources covering competitor follows and content interactions, funding rounds, hiring for a named role or keyword, technology matches, LinkedIn posts and event attendance, plus first-party activity from your CRM, your website and closed-lost deals worth reopening. Copilot mode is what separates Topo from the rest of this category. Every lead the agent sources and every message it drafts can wait in a queue for a rep to approve or reword, and a trusted segment gets switched to auto-approve. Sequences run email, LinkedIn and call tasks that land in a rep's daily queue. Topo is the closest thing in this crowded category to the way we build, because a signal-first list and a human approving each message are the two steps most AI SDR products drop. Nebor does not run it, and we assemble that same motion in Clay so the tables, mailboxes and logic stay in the client's accounts.

Integrations and the modern GTM stack

Topo is sold as a replacement for the outbound stack, so its integration list is short by design. The connections that matter are the CRM, the notification layer where reps approve work, and the sending infrastructure Topo provisions rather than connects to.

HubSpot and Salesforce

A full two-way connection. Topo imports CRM records to build dynamic inclusion and exclusion lists, uses them as a first-party signal source (dormant accounts, closed-lost deals with a reason worth revisiting), and writes activity, logs and exclusions back so reps see the outbound history where they work.

Slack and Microsoft Teams

Where copilot mode lives in practice. Topo pings the rep when a signal fires or a lead needs approval, and the same channel is used for the dedicated account manager, who Topo says answered every request inside five minutes last year.

Email infrastructure

Not an integration so much as a replacement. Topo buys the secondary domains, configures SPF, DKIM and DMARC, clusters a small number of mailboxes per domain, warms them in a private network and spam-tests every mailbox fortnightly, throttling volume when inbox placement drops.

LinkedIn

Connection requests and DMs sit as steps inside the same sequence as the emails rather than in a separate tool, and the AI drafts them from the same signal context. Topo does not publish per-account daily limits, so confirm the sending caps before you plan volume.

Enrichment providers

Topo aggregates verified emails and phone numbers from 15 providers behind one credit, with double email validation to drop addresses that would bounce. The vendors behind each record are not named publicly, so you cannot price a data point against buying that source direct.

Public API

Topo advertises an API for pushing first-party events in and custom automation out, and mentions CSV upload for exclusion lists. We found no public developer documentation for it, so scope what you need with their team before you assume a webhook exists.

What is missing

No dialer, so call steps queue as tasks for a rep to ring from their own phone tool. We found no listed Zapier, n8n, Make or Clay connector, and no native tie to Instantly, Smartlead or Lemlist, which follows from Topo running your sending itself rather than plugging into infrastructure you already own.

Pro’s

  • The approval queue is the honest version of an AI SDR, because a rep sees every sourced lead and every draft before it sends and only flips a segment to auto-approve once the output has earned it.

  • Signal coverage is unusually specific for a single vendor, running from competitor follows and job posts that name a keyword through to closed-lost records in your own CRM that are worth reopening.

  • Topo buys the secondary domains, sets SPF, DKIM and DMARC, warms every mailbox in a private network and spam-tests it fortnightly, so the deliverability work nobody enjoys sits with the vendor.

  • Every subscription includes a dedicated outbound expert, strategy workshops and a shared Slack channel, and in a category where the playbook decides the result that support is worth more than another feature.

  • The founders ran outbound at Aircall while it went from $10M to $120M ARR, and the product reads like operators who have had to make a list and an offer work rather than engineers guessing at the motion.

  • The two-way HubSpot and Salesforce sync pushes exclusions and activity logs back into the CRM, so the record of who has already been contacted stays in the system your reps open every morning.

Cons

  • Topo pulled its public price list, so the pricing page now routes you to a scoping call with no trial and no self-serve entry, and the $875, $2,000 and $3,000 tiers that review sites still quote describe the older structure.

  • The base subscription carries 6,000 credits a year at one credit per enriched lead, which works out at roughly 500 contacts a month and runs thin for any team that wants real outbound volume.

  • Your domains, mailboxes, lists and sequences all sit inside Topo's account, and since Topo buys the sending domains on your behalf, leaving means rebuilding the infrastructure as well as the workflows.

  • Calling is a task queue rather than a dialer, since Topo's own FAQ says reps dial from their existing phone tool while Topo supplies the task and the signal context, so multichannel here means email and LinkedIn with a call reminder attached.

  • G2 shows 101 reviews at 4.9 stars, but Topo sold a digital sales room before it pivoted to outbound agents and room.topo.io no longer resolves at all, so read the dates on those reviews before you weight the score.

How it fits your stack

Diagram showing how Topo fits into a GTM stack: your icp (Notion), data providers (Apollo, ZoomInfo) feed into Topo, and its output flows to cold email (Gmail), linkedin (LinkedIn), your crm (HubSpot, Salesforce).

Alternatives

Topo bundles the signal layer, the data, the copy and the mailboxes into one contract. The same motion comes apart into pieces you keep, with Clay holding the signals and the enrichment logic, Instantly running the sending infrastructure, HeyReach covering the LinkedIn channel, and Unify as the closest all-in-one to price Topo against.
