A modern CRM built around a data model you define yourself, with real-time email and calendar sync, AI research agents, agent workflows and a strong developer API.
What is
Attio
Most CRMs hand you a filing cabinet built for a sales motion someone else imagined. You bend your business into Contacts, Companies and Opportunities, then pile on custom fields for the parts that carry your revenue, like workspaces, investors, portfolio companies or accounts on a usage plan. Attio's answer is a data model you define yourself. You create your own objects and the relationships between them, and records fill in from a graph built out of your team's email and calendar in real time, which Attio puts at around 15 million emails synced daily. The automation layer got rebuilt in June 2026 as Workflows, an engine for putting AI agents next to your team, with a web research agent that fills attributes from live sources and Ask Attio for plain-language search and actions. The developer surface carries webhooks, a documented REST API and an MCP server. Attio is the one modern CRM we would take seriously for a team whose motion refuses to fit inside a fixed object model. We build on HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive, and switching a CRM costs more than teams expect, so the case has to rest on the data model rather than the interface.
Integrations and the modern GTM stack
Attio's integrations split cleanly into two halves. A short list of native connections carries the daily work of the CRM, and everything else goes through the API, the app store or an automation tool in the middle.
Gmail, Outlook and calendars | The core of the product rather than an add-on. Mail and calendar sync in real time to build the relationship graph and log activity without reps touching a record, which Attio sizes at around 15 million emails a day. |
Clay | Native and two-way, with the round trip handled inside a Clay table. You pull Attio records or lists into a Clay table as a source, layer enrichment across Clay's provider stack, then write results back with Create, Upsert, Update or Lookup Record actions. |
Slack | Ask Attio works inside Slack, so you can query records, calls and emails and start workflows from a channel. Workflow blocks also post notifications back into Slack when a deal or record changes. |
Sequencers and calling | Sequences and call intelligence are built in on the Pro plan. For teams already committed elsewhere, the app store carries Outreach, lemlist, Mixmax and Salesforge, plus Aircall, RingCentral, JustCall, Fireflies, Granola and Circleback on the calls side. |
Zapier, Make and Pipedream | Zapier is the general-purpose escape hatch and covers roughly 9,000 apps, with Pipedream and viaSocket listed alongside it. n8n has no official node, only a community package that cannot be installed on n8n Cloud, so self-hosting is the practical route there. |
API, webhooks and MCP | A documented REST API reads and writes objects, records and lists, webhooks push events in real time, and an official MCP server lets Claude or ChatGPT search and update the workspace. Attio reports around 400 million API calls a week. |
Data warehouse and event data | Attio ships no warehouse connector of its own. Hightouch handles warehouse to Attio sync, Polytomic does it both directions, and Segment creates or updates records from product event data. |
The honest gap | Attio ships no marketing automation of any kind. Nurture campaigns, ads and landing pages live in Mailchimp, Customer.io or a marketing platform you connect, which is a second bill and a sync to maintain that HubSpot customers do not pay. |
Pro’s
The data model bends to your business, so you can model workspaces, investors or usage plans as real objects instead of forcing everything into a deal record.
Email and calendar sync builds the relationship graph on its own, which cuts most of the manual logging reps quietly skip in other CRMs.
The developer surface is real, with a documented REST API, webhooks and an MCP server, and Attio reports around 400 million API calls a week.
The Clay integration is native and two-way, so enrichment loops move records both directions without you writing glue code.
Setup is fast by CRM standards and the free tier covers three seats, so a small team can try it properly before paying anything.
Cons
There is no built-in marketing automation, so nurture, ads and landing pages live in another tool you buy and sync separately.
The app store is large but startup-heavy, and the older enterprise connectors HubSpot and Salesforce ship natively often mean Zapier, Make or Polytomic in the middle.
AI draws on two credit pools, seat and workspace, and the research agent burns 10 credits per record, so heavy usage adds cost on top of the seat price.
The ecosystem is young, with roughly 5,000 paying customers reported at the August 2025 Series B, so certified partners, prebuilt reports and hiring pools are thin next to Salesforce.
Reviewers consistently flag that the flexible model needs real thought up front and that reporting stays shallow for analytics-heavy revenue teams.
