A per-account connector that pipes Meta, Google and LinkedIn Ads, GA4, HubSpot and Shopify into Data Studio, Sheets, Power BI or BigQuery, with the blending already done upstream.
What is
Porter Metrics
Porter Metrics moves your ad and marketing accounts into a Google dashboard so nobody exports another CSV on a Monday morning. You authorise Meta Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, GA4, HubSpot or Shopify with OAuth, choose which accounts to pull, and the numbers arrive in Data Studio, Sheets, Power BI or BigQuery. The connector list stops at twenty-six, with ten of those on paid media and a single CRM in HubSpot, and Porter treats that narrowness as the point. Every destination comes with the subscription, blending across sources happens upstream inside Porter, and sixty report templates install into Data Studio with data already loaded. Queries hit each source API live, and an optional BigQuery store backfills the platforms that rate limit hardest, among them HubSpot, Shopify and Amazon Seller. An AI query builder writes custom fields from a plain sentence, alerts fire into Slack when a metric drops, and an MCP endpoint opens the same accounts to Claude or ChatGPT. Porter is a marketing reporting layer that stops short of a GTM stack, and for paid media it is the cheapest sane way to fill a client dashboard. Sales sits in Salesforce for most teams we work with and no connector exists. Nebor runs none of it, and Understory's published stack puts it under Data Studio.
Integrations and the modern GTM stack
Porter has two halves worth reading separately, the twenty-six sources it pulls from and the destinations it pushes to, and only the source half carries a price. Everything downstream, from Data Studio to BigQuery to an AI chat, is included in whatever you already pay.
Data Studio (formerly Looker Studio) | The destination Porter was built around. You sign in with the same Google account you use on the reports, authorise the source with read only OAuth, and pick the accounts to pull, after which templates install through the Data Studio API with data already loaded. Porter's own /looker-studio/ URLs now redirect to /connectors/data-studio/ after Google's April 2026 rename. |
Google Sheets, Power BI and BigQuery | All three ship with every plan at no extra charge, which is the main difference from vendors that price per destination. BigQuery writes into a Google Cloud project you own and handles backfill for rate limited APIs on its own, though the free tier caps that warehouse at a thirty day window. |
Meta Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads and seven more paid media sources | Ten paid media connectors covering Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, Pinterest, Microsoft, Apple, X and DV360, reported down to campaign, ad set, ad and creative level with every attribution window exposed. Multiple accounts of the same source collapse into one connection, which is the feature agencies buy it for. |
HubSpot | The only CRM Porter connects, covering contacts, deals, companies, pipelines and email performance, and reporting down to SQL, pipeline and closed revenue by acquisition source. Automatic storage and backfill handle HubSpot's API rate limits, which is where live connectors from other vendors tend to fall over. |
Shopify, Amazon Seller, Klaviyo, Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign | The commerce and email side, with Shopify breaking out new against repeat customers and new against repeat sales so a blended CAC or MER calculation has both halves. Amazon Seller covers sales, inventory and FBA reports, and the same backfill applies to ActiveCampaign. |
Slack, Gmail and Zapier | The alerting layer, built with a visual builder that sends scheduled reports, AI written summaries and behaviour based alerts when a metric spikes or drops. Porter claims no competitor in its category offers this, and we found nothing equivalent on Supermetrics or Dataslayer to argue with that. |
Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini via MCP | A hosted MCP server at mcp.portermetrics.com that exposes accounts already connected for reporting, so nothing needs reconnecting. It is read only by design and cannot change campaigns or spend, and Porter includes it on every plan including the free one. |
What is missing | No Salesforce, Go High Level, BigCommerce or Magento on the source side, and no Tableau, Snowflake, Redshift, S3 or FTP on the destination side. Nothing in outbound connects either, so numbers from Clay, Instantly, Smartlead, Outreach or Salesloft only reach a Porter dashboard by way of a Google Sheet you keep updated yourself. |
Pro’s
Pricing follows the accounts you connect rather than the destinations you send to, so one Meta ad account runs $15 a month and five accounts run $40 in total, with Data Studio, Sheets, Power BI and BigQuery all included in that figure.
Porter joins the sources upstream and hands Data Studio a single table, which sidesteps the five table ceiling on a native blend and moves the calculation load off the report where it slows every chart down.
The free tier is a real product, giving you three connected accounts and a thirty day window with every destination switched on, and the fourteen day trial lifts the account limit with no card involved.
An optional BigQuery store backfills the sources that rate limit hardest, so a HubSpot or Shopify report survives the throttling that breaks live connectors, and Porter writes into a Google Cloud project you own.
Support is unusually open for the price, with a free onboarding call on any plan including the free one, unlimited calls after that, and a shared Slack channel that reaches the ten people who build the product.
Cons
The connector list stops at twenty-six with Salesforce missing, along with Go High Level, BigCommerce and Magento, and Porter's own comparison page names the connector count as the first reason prospects walk away.
Porter holds no SOC 2 Type 2 certification and its own page states the product is not GDPR compliant, which ends the conversation for a European client running any kind of procurement checklist.
Reviewers keep hitting broken connections, with one G2 reviewer describing connectors failing in the middle of a client presentation and a Capterra reviewer writing that the visuals present errors very often, against a 4.6 average from 239 G2 reviews.
There is no SQL editor anywhere in the product, so every custom metric goes through the visual builder or a natural language prompt, and an analyst who thinks in SQL will spend the day arguing with the interface.
The free plan keeps three accounts and thirty days of history, so the twelve month trend you built during the trial empties out the moment the trial ends and you have to start paying to see it again.
