Explorium

Explorium

A single B2B data API and hosted MCP server over 146 million companies and 767 million profiles, built for agents to call rather than for reps to click through.

What is

Explorium

You are wiring up a GTM agent and the .env file already holds eight API keys, each from a vendor with its own idea of a company record. Explorium exists to collapse that file into one line, a single B2B data API plus a hosted MCP server covering company search, contact data, enrichment and live business events. Behind it sit 146 million business entities and 767 million professional profiles pulled from more than a hundred upstream sources. The API splits into a few plain jobs. You fetch companies or people by filter, match records you already hold, enrich them, and subscribe to events like funding rounds, hiring surges and job changes. There is no prospecting screen to click around in. Search preview sits on the Enterprise tier, and everything else arrives through the API, the hosted MCP endpoint, or a set of Explorium actions inside Clay. Explorium names Clay, Cognism, Bombora and Outreach as companies it supplies, so you may already be buying its data one layer up. We would reach for Explorium through Clay or its MCP server, and we would not put a client on a standalone contract to build lists. Clay already aggregates 150 providers, so that route pays twice for one layer. The case flips if you are building an agent outside Clay and want a single credit pool.

Integrations and the modern GTM stack

Explorium is a data layer, so its integrations are about delivery rather than workflow. Almost everything is a call your system makes, either over REST, over the hosted MCP endpoint, or through a partner product that already carries Explorium underneath.

Hosted MCP server

A remote MCP endpoint at mcp.explorium.ai that any MCP client can add as a custom connector, including Claude, Cursor and Claude Code through the Vibe Prospecting plugin. This is the fastest route to company search and enrichment for an agent, because there is no wrapper to write and no schema to map.

Clay

Clay lists Explorium in its provider marketplace with five actions, covering company ratings and employee sentiment, social engagement signals, and three enrichments that mine 10-K filings for risk factors, competitive framing and strategy. These are supplementary signals, so core email and contact work in Clay still runs through its own waterfall.

Salesforce and HubSpot

Native CRM connections push enriched company and contact fields into the records your team already works, and Enterprise adds custom CRM integration work on top. Check the field mapping before you commit, since credit spend is driven by how often you re-enrich the same records.

Outreach

Explorium's AgentSource APIs are embedded in Outreach's AI Prospecting Agent, which was announced in March 2025 alongside the AgentSource launch. If you are an Outreach customer, some of this data reaches you already through that agent rather than through a contract of your own.

Snowflake

A native connection for teams that would rather land Explorium data in the warehouse and model it there, which is the shape most RevOps teams want when the same records feed scoring, reporting and routing instead of a single campaign.

n8n, Zapier and Base44

Documented integration templates for the low-code side, so a non-engineer can wire a fetch or enrich step into an existing automation. Useful for a proof of concept, though production agent traffic is better pointed straight at the REST API where you control retries and pagination.

Webhooks and events

Business and prospect events cover 18 categories and roughly 80 event types, including funding rounds, IPOs, mergers, hiring trends and job changes, delivered on demand or pushed to a webhook. Events cost 1 credit each, which makes the trigger layer the cheapest part of the platform to test.

What is missing

No sending, no sequencer, no dialer and no CRM of its own, so every campaign still runs somewhere else. There is also no browsable search UI below Enterprise, where search preview appears as a line item, so a non-technical user cannot build a list without help.

Pro’s

  • One credit pool covers firmographics, contacts, technographics, funding events and job changes, so an agent stops juggling five vendor contracts and five billing models to fill a single record.

  • The hosted MCP server plugs into Claude, Cursor, n8n and Zapier directly, so an agent can query 146 million companies before anyone writes an API wrapper.

  • Pricing is published down to the credit and starts at $99.99 for 2,500 of them, so you can test coverage on your own ICP without booking a demo.

  • Event subscriptions cover funding rounds, hiring surges, IPOs and job changes over webhooks, so triggers arrive when they happen instead of on a scrape schedule you maintain.

  • A handful of Explorium enrichments already live in Clay's provider marketplace, which lets you sample the data inside a table you use rather than rebuilding a workflow around it.

  • Native connections into Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach and Snowflake mean the output lands in the systems your team already reports from.

Cons

  • There is no prospecting interface on the self-serve tiers because search preview is an Enterprise line item, so a rep who wants to browse a list needs someone technical to run the query.

  • Credits expire after twelve months with no rollover, packages are non-refundable, and the service stops the moment the balance hits zero, which puts the whole forecasting risk on you.

  • Reviewers report records that come back mismatched or out of date depending on which upstream source answered, so you still need a verification step before anything reaches a sender.

  • It carries no sending, no sequencing and no CRM of its own, so Explorium is one layer underneath a stack rather than something you can run outbound from.

  • The independent record is thin, with roughly a dozen G2 reviews sitting behind a wall of comparison pages Explorium writes and scores itself on, so treat the coverage numbers as a starting point for your own test.

How it fits your stack

Diagram showing how Explorium fits into a GTM stack: your crm (HubSpot, Salesforce), prospecting (Clay, Apollo) feed into Explorium, and its output flows to segments (Clay), ads and outreach (LinkedIn, HeyReach), reporting (Notion).

Alternatives

Explorium is a data layer, so the comparison that matters is coverage and cost per record on your own ICP. Clay aggregates 150 providers with a waterfall and a builder around it, Apollo gives you a database and a UI on one bill, BetterEnrich charges only for verified hits, and ZoomInfo is the enterprise contract this category keeps measuring itself against.
