A cloud phone system for sales teams that puts calls, bulk SMS and WhatsApp in one inbox, dials up to ten lines at once, and moves contacts to and from Clay tables through native actions.
What is
JustCall
JustCall is the cloud phone system to reach for when your outbound runs on text as much as voice. It hands a team business numbers across 70-plus countries, a dialer, call logging into the CRM, and a shared SMS and WhatsApp inbox that most phone vendors treat as an afterthought. Outbound calling runs through four dialer modes, and the split between them decides your plan. Power and auto dialing sit on the Pro tiers, while the dynamic and predictive dialers that run up to ten lines belong to SalesPro, which is quote-only. JustCall AI transcribes, scores and tags every one of those calls. The wiring is where JustCall separates from Aircall and CloudTalk. Clay ships two native JustCall actions that push contacts into a Sales Dialer campaign and pull the call result back, SaaS Labs maintains its own n8n node, and the v2.1 REST API covers calls, SMS, dialer campaigns and webhooks. Of the three sales phone systems, JustCall is the one we would shortlist for a Clay-centred stack, because the Clay actions and the vendor's own n8n node remove glue work the others leave to you. We have not run it at Nebor. Price it with the add-ons included, since the headline tier buys less than it looks.
Integrations and the modern GTM stack
JustCall lists more than 100 CRM and business integrations, and the detail worth knowing for a GTM team is that Clay and n8n are both covered by first-party work instead of a generic Zapier hop. The CRM you run still decides your tier, since Salesforce CTI starts on Pro.
Clay | Two native actions in Clay's library. Export Contacts pushes rows from a Clay table into a named Sales Dialer campaign through JustCall's API, where only the phone number is mandatory and name, email, address and custom fields ride along. Import Contacts pulls the result back, and a Sales Dialer workflow keyed on a disposition posts the recording, disposition, notes, timestamp and contact fields to a Clay webhook. Bring your own JustCall API key and secret from the Developer section, and note the campaign ID. |
n8n | SaaS Labs publishes and maintains n8n-nodes-justcall on GitHub, listed in the n8n community catalogue and installable on n8n Cloud or a self-hosted instance. It covers calls, SMS, contacts, AI voice agents, Sales Dialer campaigns and JustCall AI insights, plus a webhook trigger node that starts a workflow on a JustCall event. A vendor maintaining its own n8n node is unusual in this category. |
HubSpot | The deepest of the CRM connections, syncing 18 fields with calls, SMS and WhatsApp logged to the contact timeline complete with disposition, recording link and transcript. HubSpot workflows can fire SMS from the deal owner's number, tasks close themselves when a call completes, and AI summaries, sentiment and call scores write back. Two-way custom property sync needs Pro Plus or Business. |
Salesforce | Salesforce CTI arrives on the Pro plan at $49 a user, one tier above the $29 entry, so a Salesforce shop pays a 69 percent premium on every seat for the same phone system underneath. Click-to-call sits inside the record, calls and texts log as activities with recordings attached, and SMS campaigns can be triggered from Flow Builder. Budget the tier jump if you were pricing the Team plan. |
Pipedrive, Zoho, Close and Attio | The mid-market CRM spread is wide and includes Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Close, Copper, Freshsales, Salesmate, SugarCRM, Bigin, Keap, EngageBay, noCRM.io, OnePageCRM, Bitrix24, LeadSquared and Attio. Attio is the notable one, because CloudTalk has no Attio connector at all, so a modern CRM stack has a native route here. |
Zendesk, Intercom and the support desks | Zendesk Support, Freshdesk, Help Scout, Gorgias, Kustomer, Re:amaze, Groove HQ, Front and Intercom all connect, which lets a support team share the JustCall account with sales rather than buying a separate contact centre. Inbound calls open tickets and carry the recording into the thread. |
Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo and Gong | The sales engagement side is covered so JustCall can be the dial layer under a sequencer your reps already live in, with Gong picking up recordings for conversation analysis. Weigh that against JustCall's own AI on Pro Plus before paying twice for transcription, scoring and sentiment on the same calls. |
Zapier, Make, Pipedream and the data pipes | Zapier, Make, Integrately, Pipedream, viaSocket and Appy Pie handle generalist glue, and Fivetran, Dataddo, Daton and Portable move call and SMS records into a warehouse on a schedule. Airtable, monday.com, Notion, Slack, Calendly and Google Calendar cover the productivity edges. |
REST API v2.1 and webhooks | The public API at developer.justcall.io authenticates with an API key and secret and exposes calls, SMS and MMS, WhatsApp, contacts and blacklists, users and groups, phone numbers, Sales Dialer campaigns, AI voice agents, appointments, analytics and AI analysis of calls and meetings. Webhook subscriptions cover call, SMS, WhatsApp, contact and scheduled task events with signature verification and automatic retry on failed delivery. |
What is missing | There is no native Instantly, Smartlead or Lemlist connection, so email sequencing and phone stay separate unless you join them in Clay or n8n. Salesforce sits behind Pro and two-way HubSpot custom fields behind Pro Plus, so a cheap seat buys a thinner CRM link than the integration page suggests. |
Pro’s
Clay ships two native JustCall actions, one exporting a table into a Sales Dialer campaign and one importing the call result back, so a list you built in Clay becomes a dialing queue without a Zapier hop in the middle.
SaaS Labs publishes and maintains its own n8n node covering calls, SMS, contacts, dialer campaigns and AI insights along with a webhook trigger, and a phone vendor shipping its own automation node is rare enough to matter.
Texting is a first-class channel here rather than a checkbox, with bulk sends to 5,000 contacts, drip sequences fired from HubSpot or Salesforce, keyword-triggered SMS bots, and 10DLC brand and campaign registration handled in a compliance centre.
The v2.1 REST API reaches calls, SMS, WhatsApp, contacts, users, Sales Dialer campaigns, AI analysis and webhook subscriptions, so dispositions and transcripts can land in your warehouse or a Clay table on a schedule you control.
The predictive dialer runs up to ten lines per rep on the same account that answers your inbound queue, and that spares a floor doing both jobs from carrying a second dialer contract beside the phone system.
The HubSpot sync is unusually deep for a phone vendor, with 18 fields, two-way custom properties on the higher tiers, tasks that close themselves after a call, and AI summaries and call scores written onto the contact timeline.
Cons
Billing is the loudest theme in JustCall's public review pools, with Capterra reviewers describing a $609.30 back charge applied without warning, no way to watch credit usage in real time, and usage reports only the vendor's own team can export.
The dialers an outbound floor really needs sit on SalesPro, which carries no published price, so the $29 to $89 range printed on the pricing page tells you little about what predictive dialing will cost you.
Outbound minutes and SMS segments are allowanced per user rather than pooled, at 1,000 minutes and 500 to 1,000 segments on the published tiers, so a team dialing all day drops onto pay-as-you-go rates partway through the month.
Dropped calls, audio lag and choppy connections at peak hours run through both the G2 and Capterra pools, and reviewers report the HubSpot sync needing manual workarounds when records drift out of step.
Every published plan starts at two users and Business needs ten, so a solo founder cannot buy a single seat, and the entry cost is $58 a month against the 19 euros CloudTalk will charge one person.
