Datanyze

The technographics tool ZoomInfo bought in 2018, sold today as a $29 Chrome extension that reveals emails and phone numbers on LinkedIn one credit at a time.

What is

Datanyze

Datanyze fails at the one job most people still arrive looking for, because the technographics business it built its name on is no longer the product. What ZoomInfo sells under the name today is a Chrome extension that reveals a work email, a direct dial and a mobile number off a LinkedIn profile or a company website. ZoomInfo bought Datanyze in September 2018 on undisclosed terms and kept the brand as its cheap self-serve door. The help centre defines the product as a Google Chrome extension for contact information, and Chrome is the only browser it runs in. Reveals are metered as credits at one credit per contact. The technology data survives as free search-engine bait rather than something you can buy. datanyze.com/technologies returns a 404, while the Market Share reports still cover 31,000 technologies across 35 million websites in 225 categories under a banner pointing you at ZoomInfo's GTM.AI, and none of those pages carries a refresh date. Skip it for technographic targeting, because the paid product sells no stack data and the free reports still file Cheetah Digital under Experian, a mapping that stopped being true in 2017. We have never run Datanyze at Nebor. At $21 a month it is a fair contact finder for one rep, and nothing more.

Integrations and the modern GTM stack

Datanyze has no integrations in the usual sense. It is one Chrome extension plus a set of public directory pages, and the only way data leaves is a CSV you download yourself. The list below is mostly about where it runs and what it refuses to connect to.

Google Chrome

The whole product. The extension is published by ZoomInfo Technologies Inc., sat at version 6.8.14 updated on 17 May 2026, and carries a 3.7 rating from 236 reviews across roughly 50,000 users. Datanyze's own help centre confirms Chrome is the only supported browser, so Edge, Firefox and Safari users have nothing to install.

LinkedIn

The main surface the extension reads. It works on an individual profile and on a company's employee list, where it prints contact details for the people on the page so a rep can capture a set of names in one pass rather than opening each profile.

Company websites

The second surface. Browsing a prospect's own site, the extension offers contact and company details for that domain, which is the closest thing left to the old workflow of researching an account and its stack in the same window.

Datanyze Directory and Market Share pages

Credits can be spent on the public directory pages as well as in the extension. These pages are also where the technology data still lives, covering 31,000 technologies and 35 million websites, and every one of them now carries a banner sending the reader to ZoomInfo's GTM.AI instead.

CSV export

Contacts and companies can be tagged into lists and exported from the dashboard whenever you want. Export is the only bridge to a sequencer, a CRM or a Clay table, and it is worth doing before you cancel, since revealed contacts are locked in the account once a subscription lapses.

CRM and sales tools

Nothing native. There is no Salesforce or HubSpot sync, no sequencer connection and no push into ZoomInfo itself, so a Datanyze seat sits outside whatever system your team actually works in.

API, Zapier and Clay

None of the three. zapier.com/apps/datanyze/integrations returns a 404, Clay lists no Datanyze provider, and the current site documents no API. The public API that older tutorials describe lived on resources.datanyze.com, a hostname that no longer resolves in DNS.

ZoomInfo

The owner since September 2018, visible in the plumbing rather than the product. The extension is published under ZoomInfo Technologies Inc., the privacy policy is served from zoominfo.com, and company logos on the directory pages are hosted on ZoomInfo's own image CDN. Datanyze seats carry no access to ZoomInfo data.

Pro’s

  • The yearly rate of $21 to $39 a month puts a real contact database in a rep's browser with no procurement conversation attached, and very little in this category starts that low.

  • Nyze Lite runs for 90 days on 10 credits a month with no card on file, which is long enough to test match rates against your own accounts before any money moves.

  • Opening the full employee list for a company on LinkedIn shows contact details for those people on the page, so a rep builds the list inside the window where the research already happens.

  • Contacts and companies can be tagged into segmented lists and exported on demand, so the records you paid to reveal can reach a sequencer or a Clay table as a CSV.

  • The Market Share reports and company directory pages stay free and need no account at all, and they still settle a quick argument about who leads a software category.

  • Datanyze publishes a data guarantee promising a refund for inaccuracies in the database, and few tools at this price put an accuracy commitment in writing.

Cons

  • Cancel a paid plan and every contact you already revealed is locked inside the account until you subscribe again, so a year of prospecting stops being available to you the month you stop paying.

  • Technographics has left the paid product, datanyze.com/technologies returns a 404, and the free Market Share pages carry no refresh date while still ranking Cheetah Digital fourth in marketing automation with Experian listed as its vendor.

  • The top plan allows 160 reveals a month, which is about two days of work for a full-time SDR, and there is no team plan either, so the FAQ tells groups to buy individual licences.

  • There is no CRM sync, no Zapier app and no documented API on the current site, and the old developer docs at resources.datanyze.com no longer resolve, so everything leaves as a CSV you move by hand.

  • The vendor's own coverage numbers disagree, with the homepage claiming 63 million direct dials while its Chrome Web Store listing claims 48 million, and a database that cannot count itself is hard to trust on a phone number.

How it fits your stack

Diagram showing how Datanyze fits into a GTM stack: your icp (Notion), watchlists (Clay) feed into Datanyze, and its output flows to signal table (Clay), outreach (Instantly, HeyReach).

Alternatives

For reading a stack off a website, BuiltWith and Wappalyzer do the job Datanyze used to do and publish what they cover. HG Insights reads job posts, contracts and filings instead, so it reaches the ERP and database systems that never touch a web page. ZoomInfo owns the technographic data it bought in 2018, and buying it there is the only way to get it as a product again.
