Review marketplace with an intent product on top. It tells you which companies are comparing you to competitors, at the account level.
What is
G2
G2 is the B2B software review marketplace buyers go to when they are shortlisting tools. Vendors run a profile there, collect verified reviews, and sit in category pages, alternatives pages, and head to head comparison pages. The second job, the one GTM teams actually care about, is Buyer Intent. Buyer Intent reports which companies looked at your profile, your pricing tab, your category page, your alternatives page, and your competitors' pages. G2 resolves visitors to a company using IP matching and logged in accounts, then passes the signal on to your CRM, Slack, or ad platforms. G2 sits in the signal layer, next to other third party intent sources. It tells you which accounts are in an active comparison, and another tool downstream turns that into a task, a sequence, or an ad audience for that account. We recommend G2 as an intent layer and we wire its buyer intent signal into the trigger workflows we build, so a comparison view becomes an outbound trigger. Be clear on one thing: the signal is account level, not person level. It needs enrichment downstream before a rep has anyone to contact.
Integrations and the modern GTM stack
G2 knows who is researching software, and that intent data flows into more places than most people realize, including an official MCP:
Salesforce and HubSpot | Intent signals land on accounts and drive lists and workflows, each with its own real-time notification hook. |
LinkedIn Matched Audiences | Companies researching you, your category or your competitors become ad audiences. |
Salesloft and Outreach | Intent signals can trigger cadences and reprioritize who gets called first. |
Slack | Intent and review alerts arrive in channels as they happen. |
Warehouses | Native delivery to Snowflake, BigQuery and Databricks for teams that model their own scoring. |
MCP server | An official server exposes intent, competitive and review data to Claude, ChatGPT and agent platforms. Few people know it exists, which makes it something of an edge. |
API and webhooks | A documented developer portal, gated to Buyer Intent subscription tiers. |
Pro’s
The intent is late stage, since someone reading a comparison page is already shortlisting.
Competitor page signals show you deals you would otherwise never hear about.
Native connectors into Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Outreach and ad platforms make routing straightforward.
Reviews and Grid placement earn value on their own, separate from the intent feed.
Signal types are specific enough to score differently, so pricing views can outrank category browsing.
Cons
Signals are account level, so you still need enrichment to find a contact.
Buyer Intent is an add on that requires the Professional or Enterprise tier, not a standalone purchase.
Pricing is quote based and negotiated, which makes budgeting hard before a sales call.
Signal volume depends on how much traffic your category and profile get on G2.
IP based company resolution misses remote workers and mislabels some visits.
